Nicholas Ogola Abukui
Due to his blossoming business acumen, Nicholas was part of the team that grew Engen Uganda Ltd from scratch into a respectable petroleum company in Uganda, which was subsequently acquired by Oryx Energies. Having exceeded expectations through consistent performance, Nicholas was promoted to Engen Petroleum Ltd (Group in South Africa but resident in Uganda) as Regional Business Process Improvement (BPI) Manager in charge of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Namibia and Botswana.
As the Regional BPI Project Manager, Nicholas designed processes and tools required to identify value creation opportunities, and helped create desired outputs to leverage on identified business opportunities. As a member of the Business Transformation Team, Nicholas was responsible for implementing process improvement projects and participate as a key member in Mergers and Acquisition (including integrating acquired businesses). As well as leading improvement projects, he added value by helping to build capability of asset to improve processes, so that their performance continually improves and bottom-line benefit targets are met.
Nicholas is the Chief Executive Officer at Primehouse Consulting Group, a professional services consultancy dedicated to supporting clients in areas of business management. The firm also conducts research and formulates cutting-edge strategies for unlocking human potential as well as releasing the often untapped performance potential within businesses and organisations. Based on years of experience, Nicholas provides solutions using some of the most effective techniques and successful methodologies for unlocking organizational performance.
Since 2011, Nicholas has been a panellist at the Business Summit Africa (BSA), a business forum where business leaders and participants interact to generate practical business solutions. He is the key business Advisor for the BSA. His clientele has been growing due to his hands-on and customised business solutions. During this period, he consulted on strategy issues to a number of private business organisations.
With over 19 years of experience in managing and building successful businesses (as a corporate executive and entrepreneur), leading diverse teams and working with businesses to unlock their performance potential, Nicholas generously shares his insights with corporates and organisations wherever he has been invited or consulted, on how to design and develop high-performance business cultures, how to create an inspirational leadership culture, how to motivate their employees and ultimately, unleash business greatness! Nicholas is a Certified Public Accountant of both Kenya and Uganda and holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Planning from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.
